Lisbon is the capital of Portugal. It has always been considered the most important city by its inhabitants, by visitors and artists. It is also known as the city of light, of lights actually. A blend of colors spreads from the sea to the houses. Lisbon has been built on seven hills, which project to a natural inlet, where the ancient harbor is located. This harbor has been throughout history a safehaven for sailors and explorers who were in search of the new world.
The “Welcome to Lisboa” tour was created for those that are going to stay only a few hours in Lisbon and want to make the best of it. When your cruise docks in Lisbon (Santa Apolónia) there will be a friendly Lisboa Autêntica Guide waiting to receive you. All Lisboa Autêntica guides are good communicators and connoisseurs of the city, its history and stories. The old part of the city is close by and in a few minutes we will be walking through the medieval section of Alfama. Through the alleys and streets of Alfama, you will get to know its history, its stories and to contact with its residents and traditions. We will leave Alfama looking over it in the viewpoint of Portas do Sol. From there we will be able to see the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora, the National Pantheon and of your cruise boat. From there we will start going down to one of the oldest monuments of the city, the Cathedral. We will have the opportunity to visit the three main squares in the city: Comércio, Rossio and Figueira. We end our tour at Rossio Square. From there you can quickly take the Metro back to your cruise or continue to enjoy the city for you will be in the most central square of Lisbon.
